Muse-ImageGeiko’s Tyronne Leon-Fernandez has won the first ever Shu Uemura 2013 Muse Image Award competing against an incredibly high standard of entries from hairdressers across the UK.

Tyronne’s ‘Muse’ experience started earlier in the year when all entrants were invited to submit photos and a mood board to describe the inspiration behind “their muse”. In Tyronne’s case, it had been a trip to the Cheltenham Gold Cup amidst a sea of extravagant fur hats that inspired his creation.

The competition is purely about creative styling and doesn’t involve colour or cutting. Tyronne’s ‘muse’ obviously caught the imagination of the judges too. As one of 24 regional finalists, Tyronne won the chance to take part in a creative group photo-shoot with top fashion photographer, Jack Eames and mentoring from renowned hair industry figure, India Miller. It was at the final at The Worx in London, that Tyronne had the opportunity to bring his inspired look to life using a professional model which ultimately won him the title.

“This is my first major hair styling award and the whole experience has been amazing,” says Tyronne who can now look forward to seeing his creation published in the hair industry magazine – Tribute.

Everyone at Geiko sends Tyronne their congratulations on such an achievement.
